Do I have to visit the dealership?
No! While you are always more than welcome to come in, you can start the process online from the comfort of your home using your phone, tablet, or computer. We even offer free delivery within 250 miles!
Are you a “Buy Here, Pay Here” dealership?
No, we are not. In fact, our goal is to let people know they have solutions outside of “Buy Here, Pay Here” dealerships. We are the best in the Des Moines metro at achieving REAL bank loans for people with less-than-perfect credit or no credit. If you have concerns about credit or getting approved, ask us about our Second Chance and First-Time Buyer programs!

What is the minimum credit score required?
We do not require a minimum credit score! At Capital City Motor Company, we believe EVERYONE deserves to drive a Nicer, Newer Car—no matter their current credit situation. We have great programs for customers with good credit, but we also work harder than anyone to secure REAL bank loans for people with all credit scores, income types, and situations that can prevent everyday people from driving the Nicer, Newer Car they deserve.
Do I need a driver’s license to buy a car?
No, a driver’s license is not required to purchase a Nicer, Newer Car! Requirements depend on the lender, but many of our preferred lenders will accept a valid government-issued ID, and some may not require identification to purchase a vehicle. We have relationships with more than 45 banks and credit unions to help find the lender that may be the right fit for you.
What if I am tight on cash for a down payment?
We understand that times can be tight. Not everyone has 25–30% to put down on a vehicle like many dealers require. That’s why, with Joe’s One-of-a-Kind Credit Approval Process, we work with lenders to pursue an approval using the amount YOU want to put down. We even have financing options with down payments as low as $7!

Do you take trade-ins?
Yes, we accept trade-ins! Not only do we accept them—we pay the MOST for trade-ins! Whether your ride is next-to-new or has seen better days, we want your trade. Trade-ins can help lower payments and provide more options and flexibility with financing terms.
What if my trade is broken down or on its last leg?
Is your car broken down or on its last leg? That’s okay—it had a good life. We will STILL accept it as a trade-in, and we will STILL pay you top dollar for it. We’ll even tow it for FREE!
